The bigger, impersonal jewelers have a "sales force" which typically knows only the bare minimum in order to make a sale. At Houston’s I always deal directly with you so I always get the information I need to make an informed purchase with none of the sales pressure. I also appreciate your willingness to provide service after the sale in order to make my purchase "perfect"(necklace too long? we'll shorten it; necklace too short? we'll lengthen it; want a different stone? we'll do it!). In short, you make my jewelry buying much easier! Others may talk about having a friend in the business, but with you I have an actual jeweler in the business, and one I trust on top of that.

The service at Houston's was exceptional. The gemologist spent a great deal of time describing how one should shop for a diamond ring, and describing the importance of cut, color, and clarity. Steve Houston has been our personal jeweler for the past 25 years. That sounds a little snobby, but it is true. Nicest, Most Honest Jeweler ever! I cannot stress enough what an honest staff works at Houston Jewelers. I've been dealing with them several years now. I took my wedding ring to a well-known jewelry store at the mall to have it "checked out". They told me all 6 prongs needed to be replaced at $40 per prong. I said NO WAY and took it to Houston’s (like I should have done in the first place). My entire ring needed was a good cleaning. They saved me from spending $240.00. At Christmas my husband bought jewelry from Steve for the first time. The ring he helped my husband pick out is absolutely stunning and we didn't have to dig deep into our pockets to pay for it.
