Repairs

Whether you have a watch that no longer works or a gemstone that is loose in its setting we can repair it and make it like new again. We have a jeweler on staff with over thirty years of experience providing repair services on the premises. We also offer the most technologically advanced repair services for your jewelry, such as “laser-welding”. We recommend having your jewelry inspected and cleaned (free of charge) at least twice a year.

For watches, we provide expert repair services and our jeweler can usually install new watch batteries while you wait. Fine Swiss-made watches should be serviced by our expert technician every three to five years to ensure their continued high performance.

Appraisals

Should you need to have a certified appraisal of any jewelry we have the skill and ability to help you. Whether your need is for insurance or other reasons we have qualified staff to do the job right and you can feel safe leaving your jewelry with us as security is extremely important to us.

Our in-house gemologist offers expert advice to all of our customers, from counsel on purchases of fine jewelry to appraisal services. Most insurance companies require insurance values to be updated at least every five years; so please, don’t let your covered values fall behind.

While appraisal services are usually needed for insurance replacement policies, they are also used to determine fair market values for estate settlement purposes, as well as numerous other applications.

When you bring your jewelry in to be appraised it is cleaned and inspected in the store and the entire process usually takes just a few days. Our Graduate Gemologist is a registered member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers, the American Gem Society, and an Alumnus of the Geological Institute of America. Custom Jewelry

Sometimes the jewelry that you see in catalogs or in the store does not quite match what is in your dream. In that case we have the answer. Our in-house artist and fashion consultants will help you create that special, custom designed piece of jewelry; a work of art made exclusively for you! We offer a large variety of possibilities, from re-designing older styles into new fashions to simple modifications. Our staff has the best training and qualifications and we have available the latest technologies in our industry, from C.A.D.-Cam custom designing to computer-generated wax building. You can be assured that you will be pleased with your custom piece of jewelry from Houston Jewelers.

Financing

The purchase of that special piece of jewelry can be a significant cost for some customers and so financing may be something to consider. Houston Jewelers is proud to extend financing to our customers through Wells Fargo. This account allows you to open a line of credit with affordable payments and great introductory rates giving you the flexibility to buy the jewelry today and pay over time. This credit account can be used for everything we carry, from world-renowned designer jewelry to diamonds and watches. You are welcome to make application for this financing or to obtain financing on your own. Either way we will be happy to work with you to make your transaction as smooth as possible.
